This special neighborhood has been the home of many breweries. Hear the stories and visit the sites of historic Schmidt Brewery. Learn about Germans and other ethnic groups that left their legacy on this neighborhood along the Mississippi River. Learn about the cave system and Cascade Creek, which created interesting development opportunities. See Minnesota's oldest barbershop. Learn about immigrant experiences building churches and businesses. See an old farm homestead, horse barns, mansions, saloons, railroad architectural wonders, and an old bowling alley. Approximately 1.5 miles of walking.

Visit this unique historic district that includes stone houses built before the Civil War and largely and was settled in the 1850s to 1870s. Visit ethnic churches and ethnic halls and see some of the oldest homes in Minnesota.
